Providing care for elderly loved ones can be particularly stressful given that many are in high-risk categories and may need additional support, or experience isolation. Caring for yourself is important, and so is helping your loved ones manage health risks from Covid-19, according to Johns Hopkins.
Funding for three days of back-up elder care is available for DU employees through Bright Horizons at subsidized rates. You can also locate eldercare providers through this portal provided by the American Council on Aging. In Denver, the Seniors Resource Center serves elders and their caretakers, and the Area Agency on Aging provides additional support from local and state government, including the Aging and Disability Resource Center.
