Applications Due: November 4 | 5:00 pm

The University Writing Program, the Senior Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Education, and the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs invite faculty to apply for the second R1 Our Way Faculty Writing Retreat. Offered on campus December 5 and 6, the retreat provides faculty the opportunity to begin, make progress on, and/or finish scholarly work.

Faculty from any rank and series who are currently working on articles, grants, or other scholarly or creative work are invited to apply. Participating faculty must commit to fully attend both days of the retreat, which will include daily goal setting, individual writing time, and opportunities for feedback on drafts through optional conferences with Writing Program faculty. The retreat will also feature optional workshops with topics including managing revise-and-resubmit feedback to develop sustainable writing habits.

Participants will receive a $500 stipend; breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The deadline for applications is EOD Friday, November 4. If demand exceeds capacity, order of application will be considered, along with considerations of disciplinary diversity and the specificity of the project described in the application. If you’re unavailable this time, look out for future opportunities in the new year.
