New Faculty bring experiences and expertise to DU

Sep 5, 2023

On Friday, September 8th, DU welcomes 66 faculty who join us this fall as full-time, appointed faculty in the teaching and professional (TPF) and tenure-track faculty lines. We also welcome post-docs across the University, including The Interdisciplinary Research Institute for the Study of (In)Equality (IRISE) post-doctoral fellows. New DU faculty bring a wide range of personal and professional experiences, as well as community connections, and have terminal degrees from over 50+ impressive institutions across the United States and the rest of the world.

This year’s new faculty orientation is focused on learning about experiences and expertise that new faculty brings to our campus and on sharing how existing faculty have overcome challenges and connected with community here in Denver. Faculty will also meet representatives from a range of supportive offices on campus and will learn how to contact them in the future. For the first time, we have created a welcome guide with some of the most common links new faculty need to get started at DU. Check it out here:

New Faculty are also invited to join the “From Surviving to Thriving” FLC to continue to connect with other folks new-to-DU and to work together through common challenges like time management in the quarter system, aligning work with values, and well-being for both students and faculty.
