As we enter faculty recruiting in the midst of a pandemic, we share the following Chronicle of Higher Education article The Job Season Without In-Person Interviews that addresses how virtual searches can lead to better, more equitable searches. To support your hiring efforts, we will be releasing a page on the VPFA website for prospective faculty. We hope this will help support your virtual recruiting efforts and will let you know when the page goes live.
As we enter into the season of faculty searches, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) is here to support the search process in a variety of ways. This year, ODEI is hosting weekly faculty search trainings. You can find the schedule of trainings and register to attend here. ODEI will also review your job description prior to posting and provide feedback as to best practices for recruitment. Lastly, they provide consultation during your search process. Please contact Kristin Deal (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information or if you have any questions regarding your search process.
