The Morgridge College of Education implemented a YOU ROCK! Program two years ago in which faculty and staff recognize each other for small and large accomplishments. Faculty and staff submit nominations on a physical or electronic card.
The e-version of YOU ROCK! was implemented this month to promote more integration with our colleagues who work from a distance. The YOU ROCK! certificate includes MCE IE Committee values, listed on the side, to serve as a reminder of how living our community values impacts our work.
The YOU ROCK! mini certificates are collected in a basket or entered online and a bi-weekly drawing determines a winner who receives two Gold Club tickets to a DU hockey game during the season, or DU swag. All of the nominees are recognized in the dean’s newsletter, A Note from Karen, on a bi-weekly basis. Following the drawings, the certificates are placed in the mailboxes of the nominees so they can see who nominated them and why. It has been a huge success. Karen notes that she has seen the YOU ROCK! certificates proudly displayed in faculty and staff offices and cubicles.
