The University Writing Program and the Senior Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Education invite faculty to apply for the Winter R1 Our Way Faculty Writing Retreat. This writing retreat — which will be held December 13th and 14th on the DU campus in the Colorado Women’s College Chambers Center — provides a supportive and focused environment for faculty to begin, make progress on, and/or finish their scholarly work.
Full-time faculty from any rank and any series who are currently working on article drafts, grants, or other scholarly or creative work are invited to apply. Participating faculty must commit to attending both full days of the retreat, which will include daily goal setting, individual writing time, and opportunities for feedback on drafts through optional conferences with University Writing Program faculty. Participants will receive a stipend of $300; breakfast and lunch will also be provided.
The deadline for applications is end of day Friday, November 17th. Spots in the retreat are limited; if demand exceeds capacity, we will consider the order of applications, previous participation in retreats, and the specificity of the project described in the application, as well as disciplinary diversity. If these dates are unavailable for you, look out for future opportunities in the new year.
If you are interested in dedicating part of winter break to your writing, please apply now!
