Ideas to Impact Workshop & Beyond

Nov 1, 2022

As DU celebrates our teacher-scholar model and prepares for an ambitious fundraising campaign, the need for creative, big ideas has never been more essential. On October 28th, Provost Clark launched the Ideas to Impact workshop where nearly 100 faculty members participated in a the beginnings of a larger campus-wide campaign for faculty to brainstorm and ideate, connect with peers, and devote time to thinking about and discussing what could become transformational, distinguishing, transdisciplinary, and interdisciplinary ideas for the University of Denver to pursue through academic programming, fundraising, and other opportunities.

The goal is to identify the top ideas that will lead DU into the future.

To achieve this goal and building on the successes of the Knowledge Bridges project (e.g., the Migration/Immigration Knowledge Bridge, and the Mental Health Collaborative), Ideas to Impact focuses on existing transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary concepts, including:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Democracy
  • Sustainability
  • DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
  • Health at DU
  • Educational Pathways
  • New Big Ideas
