Find Joy in Your Writing: May and June Workshops & Retreat with Helen Sword

May 3, 2021

Most inquiry begins with a sense of wonder, but too often academic writing feels far removed from that originating joy. This series of workshops, followed by an intensive retreat, helps faculty to reconnect with the beauty and fun of academic writing and to learn from the successful habits of other scholars. Helen Sword is a world-renowned scholar on academic writing, both in terms of its style and production, with books such as Stylish Academic Writing, The Writer’s Diet, and Air & Light & Time & Space: How Successful Academics Write. Although she usually hosts workshops on islands off the coast of New Zealand (!), Dr. Sword is able to join us this year remotely via Zoom. A unique opportunity to be guided by a master teacher of writing.

Appropriate for all ranks and series. Attendees of both workshops and the two-day retreat will receive free copies of Sword’s book.
