New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation & Provost’s Luncheon (Office of the Provost) Friday, September 8, 9:00am-4:30pm, Location Joy Burns Center Ballroom, Lunch in Gregg Kvistad Room, Anderson Academic Commons 290.   

Agenda:  

·         9:00am-10:00am: The Breakfast session will focus on connecting new faculty to each other, celebrating the gifts and stories they bring to DU, and setting intentional goals for the year in research, teaching, and service.  

·         10:00am -11:00am: The Division of DEI will co-host a Community Coffee Hour where new faculty can meet members of Faculty Affinity groups.  

·         11:00am-12:00pm: New faculty will gather with others in their same appointment type (VAPs/Post-Docs, TPF, Tenure Track) in facilitated groups that will help de-mystify the applicable review and tenure, promotion, and reappointment processes. 

·         12:30-2:00pm: Deans or their designees are expected to join Provost Clark to formally welcome new faculty for the Provost Luncheon in AAC 290. Watch for requests for content for the New Faculty Book that is shared at this event.  

·         2:30pm: New faculty will be invited to choose up to three 30 minute sessions on teaching, research, service, advising, or community engagement, with collaborators from the Office of Grants, Research, and Sponsored Projects; the Office of Teaching and Learning; Faculty Affairs, Academic Affairs, and the Center for Community Engagement to advance Scholarship and Learning.
