The Faculty Senate and the Faculty approved an amendment to the APT providing the option of a one-year extension for promotion and contract renewals in response to delays in research, teaching, and service contributions due to the pandemic.

Faculty members interested in a one-year extension of their promotion and/or contract-renewal timeline may submit their intent via email to the administrative head of their academic unit. The administrative head will then communicate the notification of a one-year extension to the dean, to the Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs, Kate Willink (Kate.Willink@du.edu), and to the Manager of Academic Operations in the Office of the Provost, Kristi Burgert (Kristi.Burgert@du.edu). This will allow accurate tracking of contract and promotion dates at the unit and university level.

Faculty members whose review is coming up this year and want to request a one-year extension must let their administration head of their academic unit know by Sept. 1, 2020.
