David Thomas, Phd has spent 25 years in and around learning and technology. He comes to DU after spending 16 years at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus where he led the university’s online program, CU Online, and at the data division inside the Office of Information Technology.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with the leadership in the schools and colleges to identify programs with high potential for online delivery and working with the DU community to build and extend services needed to launch and support those programs. The goal of this new office focuses on the university’s mission of delivering quality education to engaged students and supporting a world class research and teaching faculty. Over the coming weeks I will be working with the Office of Teaching and Learning to help support faculty during this time of change. As teaching in the new online modality stabilizes, I will move my attention to developing a comprehensive plan for extending online education with an eye toward soliciting new online programs to start development as early as this fall. I’ll look forward to meeting and planning with you all.
“On an academic note, my area of research focuses on “fun” and I am at work on a new book about fun in the workplace.”
Dave is currently virtually located in the Office of Teaching and Learning during these unusual COVID19 remote work times. We want you to know he has arrived.
