There has been a national increase in the recording and distribution of course interactions and materials without consent from faculty and/or participating students. This concerning trend continues to impact the faculty’s ability to teach effectively and without fear. To protect the privacy of faculty and students, and maintain the integrity of collegial learning environments across modality, we’d like to remind you that the OTL has provided a suite of sample syllabus statements that you can adopt and/or adapt as part of your classroom policies. In particular, we’d like to highlight the Restriction of Audio or Visual Recording, Reproduction, and Distribution of Content in Online Courses. Your privacy and intellectual property are protected by this policy and violation is subject to sanctions under the Student Rights & Responsibilities Policies.
