We are excited to let you know about a new process improvement related to faculty hiring.
As you know, the background check has been a standard part of the hiring process, but now our vendor, HireRight, has set up an automatic Faculty Criminal + Education Verification package into the system. Currently, the background check includes running a criminal check on faculty candidates. The background check will now include education verification on the candidate’s highest degree of education. We are planning to start using this feature immediately.
The process to request a background check will not change for divisions. The top candidate will be moved to the Request Background Check stage in PioneerJobs. The Recruiter in Shared Services will then initiate the Faculty Criminal + Education Verification package. This will replace the post-hire verification process previously completed by provost’s office staff.
