By: Leslie Cramblet Alvarez, Director of the Office of Teaching and Learning
In this interactive workshop, we welcome back Dr. Noah Finkelstein and panel guests from around the country to explore the role of self-reflection and composing teaching statements for evaluation. We present the opportunities (and limitations) of different mechanisms for including and interpreting faculty voice in teaching evaluation, including teaching portfolios, reflections, and statements. Participants will examine tools and practices for the use of faculty voice in evaluation, and engage with faculty from different disciplines to discuss how they have enacted these approaches in their units.
This event is a required part of Departmental Action Team (DAT) participation. It is open to the campus community and all departments exploring current approaches to teaching evaluation. Lunch will be provided.
