Reflecting on TPF Promotion Processes at MCE

Morgridge College of Education has been leading the institution in their creation of an AP committee for teaching and professional faculty that manages the appointment, reappointment, and promotion for teaching and professional faculty in the college. Over the last few years, under the leadership of Professors of the Practice Norma Hafenstein and Paul Michalec and in partnership with Associate Dean Ryan Gildersleeve and  AP committee colleagues, the committee had revised their processes and expanded into formative mid appointment reviews.

We share a conversation with VPFA Kate Willink and Profs Michalec and Hafenstein to discuss lessons learned on the process of institutionalizing the reappointment and promotion process for TPF faculty in MCE.
