DU You Rock! Awards

At DU our community the importance to take time to acknowledge and appreciate one another. The Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs (VPFA) team launched the You Rock! Awards in 2019 with inspiration from Morgridge College of Education across campus for faculty and staff. It was then expanded in 2020 through a partnership with VPFA, Community + Values, Human Resources & Inclusive Community, Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence, and Advancement to further acknowledge the great talent, dedication, collaboration, and passion of our entire DU community. In 2023, we have now streamlined the You Rock! process to make it easier for everyone to give and receive awards by shifting to a single award form.

We want this to be one of many initiatives that reinforce appreciation and kindness throughout the DU community. Did someone brighten your day? Did they reach out to offer support or mentorship? Perhaps they helped you learn something new? Or, did you see them do these things for someone else? These things all make a difference, and we hope that through the You Rock! Program, you will take a moment to fill out the form below and tell us how your fellow community member is making a difference.

Anyone in our community, whether student, staff, faculty, alum, parent, or friend can submit an award for a fellow community member for their small and larger accomplishments. The awardee will receive notification that they’ve been recognized. Every person who is awarded a You Rock! Award will be recognized quarterly in newsletters and by their supervisor if they are an employee at DU. We also host periodic celebrations and hold giveaway drawings for all those who give or receive awards to celebrate how much “We Rock!” here at DU.
