Funding for three days of back-up care is available for DU employees through Bright Horizons at subsidized rates for both in-home and center based care. Bright Horizons also offers access to resources for locating babysitting and tutoring services, such as a premium membership to SitterCity and tutoring and test prep through Revolution Prep.

Other options for locating care include, and resources from the state of Colorado such as Colorado Shines which can help you find a licensed care provider in Colorado. You can also utilize personalized support and referrals for choosing Denver area childcare providers from Mile Hile United Way.

DU is home to three entities which could play a role in your child’s education and care. The Fisher Early Learning Center is an on-campus facility for children aged six weeks to five years. Although there are discounts for faculty and staff, Fisher allocates spaces through a lottery system, so obtaining a spot for your child can be a challenge. The Ricks Center for Gifted Children offers education for children from pre-K-8th grade who meet certain qualifications, and also offers after school programming. They do not offer discounts for faculty and staff. Finally, the Ritchie Center usually hosts P.A.S.S. Camp in the summer. It’s a weekly sports and wellness summer camp for campers ages 5–11!
