Think and Drink Event 1: What Are Core Workload Issues?

March 31, 2021 at 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm MDT

Co-hosted by Dr. Hava Gordon, Associate Professor and Academic Advisor, Department of Sociology & Criminology.

VPFA Think and Drink: A chance to connect with colleagues virtually around snack-sized readings related to workload equity and the upcoming Provost’s conference on the Post-Pandemic University.  We offer a four-week series of conversations starting on March 31st  which will prepare us to welcome Dr. KerryAnn O’Meara, a leader in the field of workload equity research, and to build on the efforts of the Workload Equity Committee.

Like an appetizer, the readings are an offering to our guests–but you don’t need to have read them to take part in the conversation. It is not necessary to pre-register— you can stop by the zoom room for a few minutes or an hour, and bring your favorite beverage.

Appetizer: ”Asked More Often: Gender Differences in Faculty Workload in Research Universities and the Work Interactions That Shape Them,”
Then Browse: Workloads and Rewards Project at UMD.
Suggested Pairing: The Perfect Manhattan

No registration required! Just stop by the Zoom room.
