The last three years have been challenging, to say the least, and the ongoing trauma of the pandemic has impacted both faculty and students. Many faculty were already on the edge of burnout in 2020. Campus shakeups, the challenges of new modalities, and the swings between in-person and remote learning have tested the coping skills of even the most resilient faculty. In this workshop, we will explore what burnout is and how to recognize it; examine two lenses through which to look at burnout resilience: purpose and compassion; and develop some actions to take immediately to mitigate burnout.
